San Francisco's Persona Computing gains Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification from the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council (NCSDC)

San Francisco, CA - August 5, 2002 - The San Francisco based information technology (IT) staffing firm of Persona Computing, Inc. has been awarded certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council (NCSDC).

According to Ginny Velasquez, Persona Computing's president, "We feel highly honored to be certified and accepted into the community of Minority Business Enterprises by the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council. The organization has been working ceaselessly since 1972 to encourage major corporations to adopt and implement programs to increase their purchases of goods and services from minority businesses. Currently, minorities represent 28% of the United States population, but minority businesses represent only 15% of total businesses, 3% of gross receipts and 4% of total corporate purchases. As you can see there is a long way to go. We feel that certification by a large national organization such as the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council provides our potential clients with the confidence that they often need when embarking on business with a new vendor. Doing business with Persona also helps meet corporate vendor diversity goals."
