San Francisco's Persona Computing gains Small Business Administration 8a Business Development Certifications

San Francisco, CA – March 29, 2003 - The San Francisco based information technology (IT) staffing firm of Persona Computing, Inc. has been awarded certifications by the Federal Governments Small Business Administration (SBA) as an 8a business concern and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB).

According to Ginny Velasquez, Persona Computing's president, "Gaining these certifications from the Federal Government is a great achievement for Persona. The criteria for qualification and certification are very stringent. A company must show a strong history of business achievement as well as the ability to focus on and strengthen its core competencies through the length of the nine-year program. The aim of the 8a and SDB certifications is to help small businesses get their foot in the door with companies that have government contracts. It's a great way of giving small businesses the opportunity to show the quality of service they provide. Federal government buyers benefit from a source of pre-screened small businesses that reach and often exceed performance levels of companies many times their size. Our certifications are particularly important to clients that work with Federal Government Agencies as prime contractors or subcontractors. All contract holders have diversity goals they must meet, they need to know their 8a qualified subcontractor can provide good quality product at the right price and promptly. Doing business with Persona makes good business sense and helps meet diversity requirements."
